The Marie Antoinette Pouch!
C’est fini! Now let them eat cake!
Well, the lady may or may not have said that, but if nothing else hopefully this Marie Antoinette pouch will whet one’s appetite with the imaginations of an extravagant lifestyle.
Once again, I exceeded my expectations when imagining my next project. I obviously got a little carried away but not in vain. It was such great fun stitching it together. My ribbon stash is running low now I must admit and I did tell my mother that a talented artist can do a lot with little, so here she is! Little Marie…no, how about petite Marie instead?
Silk ribbon was used to create the bouquet of flowers laid on a hand dyed beaded flower motif. One of the roses is also hand dyed to a dark burnt plum colour. The result is a very antique looking rose.
The back features a silk velvet blossom with rose coloured Swarovski crystal pearl beads and silk velvet rose buds. How cute are they? The drawstring also has a silk rose bud at each end.
This pouch is pretty to look at from any angle.
A gorgeous accessory to be admired on any dressing table next to your favorite accessories.
