I love this embroidery piece by Susan Elliot from her blog “Plays with Needles“. Her inspiration is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It is intricately embellished with beads, crystals and lace on a shade of Tiffany Blue.
Tiffany Blue is the colloquial name for the light medium robin egg blue color associated with Tiffany & Co., the New York City jewellery company. The color was used on the cover of the Blue Book, Tiffany & Co’s catalogue first published in 1845 (quoted from Wikipedia). I would love to use this colour in my collection. Perhaps as a silk chiffon blouse, scarf or a fitted silk jacket and skirt suit designed in a 1960’s silhouette. Now that would turn heads!
