♥ ~ A new style of fashion is born ~ ♥
The 1960’s would have to be the most innovative era in the history of fashion, with mass production and consumption brought on by advancements in technology, man made fibres and the production of new space age fabrics.
It was an exciting time for consumers and fashion designers alike with the revival of Parisian Haute Couture, and the emergence of youth power, pret-a-porter and a new body consciousness dictated by the invention of the mini skirt, monokinis and minidresses.
Mooshi’s 1960’s vintage pattern collection
Mooshi has only a modest collection of 1960’s patterns to boast about but more patterns will be added over time to pay homage to this wonderful era. The patterns we have in stock include two from French fashion houses – Jean Patou and Lanvin-Castillo. They are remarkably different in style. The LV pattern is likely to have been designed during the earlier part of the 1960’s having some resemblance to late 1950’s fashion but with a shorter hemline. The modern silhouette of the Patou design appears to be late 1960’s as the dominant collar and safari box pleat pockets resemble the style of 1970’s fashion.
Pattern sizes are limited however some minor alterations can be made to obtain a custom fit, provided that the integrity of the vintage design is not compromised. Patterns can also be graded to a ready-to-wear size on request subject to design complexity. Please contact us with any questions or for advice.
Please note, Mooshi’s vintage patterns are available for couture productions only and not sold separately.
