Learn Advanced Tambour Embroidery Techniques with Mooshi Couture!
Mooshi Couture is now offering classes in advanced tambour embroidery techniques!
Take your tambour embroidery further with more challenging techniques to create truly beautiful embellished hand embroidery.
We’ve done the research and have practiced the methods to share advanced techniques with you. You’ll learn how to manipulate beads and sequins in novel ways to begin to create patterned and raised embellished work. You’ll also learn some new ways to use the chain stitch to create common hand embroidery stitches like buttonhole stitch, feather stitch and satin stitch. We’ll also share with you how to stitch sequins in a fish scale pattern and a technique to create raised crochet. This technique will take your hand embroidery to a new level!
This advanced class is also an opportunity to revisit the basics and have Olivia critique your technique and stitching projects. The image below shows some of the advanced stitches you’ll learn. Click here for more information about the class.
We recently taught our advanced techniques to local artist Margaret Heap from the south east Queensland region of Mount Tambourine. Margaret is a skilled embroidery artist and wanted to learn new tambour embroidery techniques to take her textile art to a new level. Here’s her testimonial about our class …
“An informative and well presented and demonstrated class. All techniques were clearly presented. An enjoyable day”
Thank you Margaret!
Here’s Margaret and her recent creation, a Bower Bird embellished with beads and sequins appliqued onto an embroidered background. It is a beautiful work of art!
We’re looking forward to seeing more of Margaret’s inspirational work!
